Hello All, I just got a chance to watch this video and the man has to be one of the smoothest people , I have ever seen with a deck of cards. I was wondering if anyone knew if the rest of his videos are as good as Vol 1? And what other Magician's Videos are good to get. To learn sleights and good card tricks. Thanks RevK

If you like the Marlo vid, I strongly suggest you get his book 'The Cardician.' It has a lot of gems in it. Also, as far as learning sleights and tricks, books are the best way to go not videos.

You can find good stuff all over the place. One of my favorite books is The Classic Magic of Larry Jennings. If you want a video, there is one of Jennings by that same title but doesnt hold (obviously) as much info as the book. Check out any of James Swain's books (Dont Blink, Miracles with Cards, and 21st Century Card Magic). Again if you want videos, he has a 3 set also called Miracles with Cards. As far as Marlo, yes his other videos are all good. Some teach stuff while others are just performances. Out of any magician around, he probably has the most stuff in print. I would recommend learning from his texts, not from the vid.

You mean Marlo's not a good teacher, Segal ? I'm thinking to buy the video of both volumns, The Cardician, and the Legend. But if book is better, maybe I'll change my mine then

Marlo is a good teacher on the videos. His writing style is a bit hard to understand. f you are interested in Marlo's material, I would suggest the book Marlo Without Tears, written by Jon Racherbaumer. Jon writes it with the intent to simplify the style of writing. Although he does this, he is able to keep Marlo's style present. Its a good book to introduce anyone to Marlo's style of writing to make it easier to understand.
As far as books VS videos, I prefer books over videos anyday. Just keep in mind that Marlo is not easy to read.

I prefer the videos, simply because I don't like reading over and over, and looking at cartoon drawings. I can watch the performer and pick up all the minor details and moves exactly as he performs them. I would recommend any video of Marlo. I have 2, and he teaches some super stuff.

Yes, all the Marlo tapes are worth having especially the Seconds, Centers, Bottoms tape where he actually does some great stuff. But keep in mind that these are not teaching videos, just something to have of Ed doing some incredible things.
I have seen the Allan Ackerman videos and I would recommend those. It depends on where you are at with cards.

The recently re-released DVD's The Cardician and The Legend contain him performing/teaching the stuff. Some of the other tapes, put out by Wakeman, are primarily performance only. Still worth it though just to watch him work.

Marlo's videos are good to watch and learn from, but you get so much more from his books. There are gems in his books that are not on any of the vids, including the Wakeman vids and Prime Time Marlo which was a video of performance only that Racherbaumer put out. Both volumes of M.I.N.T., The Cardician, Advanced Fingertip Control, the RCT series, The Unexpected Card Book (One of my favs.) Marlo's Magazines (all 6 vol.) Marlo In Spades, Marlo Without Tears, The Card Magic of Edward Marlo are all good books that contain Gems that are no where else. If you can find any of these books, which most can be found, I recommend you get them.

I was just notified that Magic Inc. is putting out a hardbound volume of the Revolutionary Card Technique series. This will be a great item for anyone who hasn't obtained this material yet.
